Trusting God: Letting Go & Finding Peace

trust in god

A faith-filled reflection on letting go, trusting God with the outcome, releasing anxiety, and finding peace—even when life and finances feel uncertain.

Letting Go and Letting God Take the Wheel

There comes a moment in life—sometimes quietly, sometimes after a storm—when you realize that holding on tighter isn’t helping anymore.

You’ve planned.
You’ve prayed.
You’ve worked.
You’ve worried.

And still, things aren’t unfolding the way you thought they would.

This is usually the moment when God gently invites us to loosen our grip.

Not because we’ve failed.
Not because we didn’t try hard enough.
But because we were never meant to carry everything alone.

Trusting God isn’t about pretending everything is fine. It’s about choosing faith even when things are uncertain. Especially then.

There are seasons when finances feel heavy, when doors don’t open as quickly as we hoped, when the path forward looks foggy instead of clear. These are the moments anxiety loves to creep in—the “what ifs,” the fear, the feeling that if we don’t control every outcome, everything will fall apart.

But faith whispers something different.

Faith says: You don’t have to know how this ends.
Faith says: You don’t have to force what isn’t meant for you.
Faith says: What’s truly for you will not pass you by.

Letting go doesn’t mean giving up. It means releasing the illusion of control and trusting that God sees the full picture—one we can’t possibly see from where we’re standing.

When we say, “God, take the wheel,” we’re not stepping away from responsibility. We’re stepping into peace. We’re choosing to do our part faithfully, while surrendering the outcome completely.

And that surrender?
It’s powerful.

Because when you stop fighting what’s out of your control, something beautiful happens. Your shoulders relax. Your breath deepens. Your heart softens. You begin to feel supported instead of strained.

God doesn’t ask us to have all the answers. He asks us to trust Him with the unanswered questions.

Even the financial stress.
Even the delays.
Even the disappointments.

Especially those things that are outside of our control.

Sometimes what feels like a setback is actually protection. Sometimes what feels like a “NO” is really a redirection. And sometimes what feels like nothing is happening is God working quietly behind the scenes, aligning things in ways we couldn’t orchestrate ourselves.

Absolute faith doesn’t mean fear never shows up—it means fear no longer gets the final say.

Faith says: I trust You even here.
Faith says: I believe You are for me, not against me.
Faith says: Whatever the outcome, I will be okay—because You are with me.

When we lift our worries up to God, we aren’t ignoring reality. We’re choosing a higher perspective. We’re allowing Him to carry what was never meant to rest on our hearts in the first place.

And when we do that, peace follows.

Not because everything suddenly changes—but because we do.

We stop chasing outcomes and start trusting timing.
We stop forcing doors and start noticing open ones.
We stop living in anxiety and start living in faith.

And we remember this simple truth:
What is meant to be will be.
What is not will fall away.
And what is unfolding is doing so with purpose—even if we don’t yet understand it.

A Prayer 🙏🏻

God,
I come to You tired of carrying what was never mine to hold alone.
I release the need to control every outcome, every detail, every timeline.

I lift up my fears, my finances, my unanswered questions, and the things that aren’t going the way I planned.
I place them gently in Your hands.

Help me trust You fully.
Quiet my anxious thoughts.
Calm my spirit.
Replace my worry with peace and my fear with faith.

If something is not meant for me, help me let it go with grace.
If something is meant for me, help me trust You to bring it in Your perfect timing.

I believe You are working—even now.
I believe the outcome will be what it’s supposed to be.
And I choose to rest in that truth.

Amen.
