A faith-filled reflection on surrender, morning routines, spiritual growth, and choosing faith over control—one intentional day at a time.
Starting your day right
Yesterday I gave everything up to God. I turned over everything that was beyond my control, and my steps were directed. Everything lined up in a divine manner—and I was amazed.
Today, I will put on the armor of God and begin to take more steps in faith.
Have you ever wondered why things in your life become so complicated sometimes? I truly believe it’s because we forget—or we’re too stubborn—to release control. We try to manage outcomes, fix people, force timing, and carry burdens that were never meant for us to hold. And when we do that, peace quietly slips away.
I know I talk a lot about letting go in faith. But that’s because I’m on a journey. A real one. A daily one. I’m learning to walk by faith and not by sight. I’m learning to listen more—really listen. After all, we were given two ears and one mouth for a reason, so we can listen twice as much as we speak. That lesson alone has changed the way I move through relationships, business, and even my conversations with God.
I’m still studying The Armor of God with Priscilla Shirer, and it has been nothing short of transformational. It’s not just a study—it’s a mirror. It reveals where I’ve been spiritually unprotected, where I’ve allowed doubt, fear, or distraction to creep in, and where I need to stand firmer in truth. Each piece of the armor reminds me that faith is not passive. It’s intentional. It’s active. It’s something we choose daily.
This journey didn’t start overnight. Back in 2019, I attended a retreat put on by Matthew Hussey, a relationship expert whose work dives deep into confidence, self-worth, and personal responsibility. That experience was powerful. It gave me space to reflect, to release, and to understand myself in a new way. I learned how much of my past I had unknowingly carried into relationships—romantic, professional, and even friendships. I learned that growth sometimes requires walking away from what no longer serves your life, even when it’s familiar or comfortable.
That retreat helped me become a better person—not perfect, but aware. Stronger. More confident. More grounded. It taught me that boundaries are not walls; they are acts of self-respect. And it showed me that when you heal internally, everything externally begins to align.
Today, I can honestly say I am strong, confident, and faith-filled. I experience what I can only describe as supernatural downloads—ideas, clarity, solutions—often when I least expect them. My steps feel divinely directed. I’m able to accomplish more than most, not because I push harder, but because I’ve learned to surrender deeper.
My days begin early. I wake up at 5:00 a.m., grab my coffee, take the dogs out, and sit in peace for at least 30 minutes. No noise. No rush. Just stillness. Then I spend at least an hour every morning learning—new skills, new perspectives, new ways to grow. That time fuels everything else that follows.
After that, I get ready for the day and post a motivational message that often comes to me intuitively. I create and share a real estate article, begin working through my agenda inside the systems I use, return emails, and follow up on meetings scheduled for the day. I start calling people on my list—new clients, current clients, friends, family, resource partners, and people in my circle. From there, the day unfolds into buyer consultations, property showings, touring homes, meeting new construction sales reps, listing appointments, and sometimes a coffee meeting—and I love those. There’s something special about meaningful conversations over coffee.
I truly enjoy what I do most days. But let’s be honest—some days feel heavy. Deals fall apart. Progress stalls. It feels like everything is standing still. Other days, you’re on top of the moon, grateful beyond words, wondering how you got so blessed. Both kinds of days are part of the journey.
What I’m learning is this: faith doesn’t eliminate challenges—it gives them context. It reminds me that I don’t walk alone, that every delay has purpose, and that surrender is not weakness—it’s trust.
So today, I choose to put on my armor again. I choose faith over fear, listening over reacting, and peace over control. And I remind myself that when I let go, God steps in—and everything aligns exactly as it should.
